English Bluebells in the Gully

The bluebells are out and the gardens at Beryl are starting to come to life. A few weeks of bright sunshine has helped give the spring flowers a boost and the bees are busily collecting pollen. The main borders have been trimmed, the lawns mowed and the hedges given a haircut. We have painted the outdoor furniture, commissioned the parasols and cleared the pool house ready for opening the pool on 1 May. A pair of mallards inspected the pond as a potential summer residence only to be thwarted by a large white Muscovy duck who has staked his claim, energetically patrolling the water. Now we are waiting for the grass carp to surface from the depths and Spring will be in full flow.
